My Favorite Glam Eye Makeup That's Work Appropriate! (and my new bff, white eyeliner)

Hello! It's been a crazy past week! I've been workin' my tail feathers off! But I finally have some time to write a new post! Today I'll be posting a tutorial about slightly glam eye makeup that is work appropriate! Because you always wanna look your best at work especially when all you do is work (like me)..... but you don't want to wear too much or look like a clown, nobody will take you seriously!

So here is my tutorial for neutral glam eye makeup (with my new favorite makeup tool, WHITE EYELINER!)

1. I've already finished my face makeup, I use a Tarte Foundation with a Cover Girl Pressed Powder. And I use a Smashbox Primer all over my face and eyelids.

2. Time for my best best friend! A white eye liner pencil, I use Wet N Wild. I apply the pencil to my waterline, the inside corner of my eyes, and under my eyebrows. (please excuse my crazy eyeball in the below pics)

3. Using my finger, I blend the white in under my eyebrows.

4. Once blended, I use a skin colored light tan matte eye-shadow from Skinn by Dimitri James on my entire eyelid to create a matte and polished eyelid.

5. Then I use a fluffy eye-shadow brush to apply a dark matte coffee like color to my crease only. I used a color from my Skinn by Dimitri Jame pallet.

 6. Easy peasy! The eye-shadow is done! Next I'll use my felt tip black liquid eye liner from l'oreal to line my entire upper lid and create a small wing tip.

7. Than I apply mascara to lower lashes first, then upper lashes. I use butterfly effect mascara by l'oreal.

8. And then to make the look a little more glam... I apply a natural set of false eyelashes.

9. And there you have it! A simple but glam look that's perfect for work or school! And it's pretty simple too!

I hope you enjoyed my first ever makeup tutorial!

Love always,
Scarlett

Taboo Topic.... Jealousy of the "Perfect Wife, Perfect Life"

I can't complain..... I am happily married to a loving husband, have a wonderful dog, a great and supportive family, and a roof over my head! But.... I am a woman and a human, so from time to time, I struggle with a destructive curse.... jealousy.

Since we live in a world where social media controls hours of our lives, jealousy and envy has only gotten worse. I can't help but to compare myself to women my age and young married women!

You all know those few people who's lives always seem better and more perfect than yours. That fellow young married couple that is always magically trendy and fashionable that leaves you wondering... "Are they not financially struggling too?! How on earth can they afford all that dang class and style?!"

Or that rich and fabulous couple that seems to have it all.... a dream house, babies, careers, money, perfect tans and hair extensions....

Or that beautiful twenty-something, studding abroad while finding herself, writing a novel, taming wild horses, making a documentary about poverty in third-world countries, and ending up with an Italian Prince Charming (although, I did find mine *wink wink*)

It doesn't matter what it is... friends I've had since middle school who still hang out, but forgot to include me, those perfectly fit real-life Barbies, or someone with a nicer Jeep than mine.... I can't help but to find myself getting jealous all the time. So I am making a promise to myself to correct this PROBLEM asap!

But how? Luckily I found this website with a few amazing tips! Well, at least answers 5 - 8 are amazing. (Click here to see the website)

Here's a abbreviated version of their best answers;

  • Learn from her
  • Go to the core
  • Find yourself
  • Do your best
It's also important to remember how unhealthy it is to be jealous of someone. When you're jealous, you start to think negatively about yourself and your life, and when you are negative, your friends and family don't want to spend as much time with you as they used to, so you will have less than you started with.... making you feel even more jealous and negative.... and so on and so forth.

And hey.... its in the Bible too.... so you know it's gotta be a big deal.

So I'm going to make a promise to myself and I hope you will too, to kick this nasty jealousy habit quick!

Love Always,
Scarlett

Movin' on up

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope you had an amazing joyful weekend! Troy and I have some wonderful news! WE ARE MOVING! God had blessed us with an amazing upgraded condo in a nice and quite neighborhood that's still in our hometown, Lakeside, San Diego, CA. Below are some pictures of our new home!
Here is the courtyard in front of our home. It's really lovely and often filled with playing children!

Here is the pool! Our niece Bella will love this!

and..... the best part! We have a backyard for our dog Buddy!! He's gonna be so happy!

The condo has just been upgraded with hardwood flooring, new tile in the bathroom, a new air conditioner, and the walls have been painted with a very trendy sand color. I am in decorating heaven!!

We are in the final steps of getting approved for our new home and we couldn't be happier!
Thank you to everyone who prayed for this to work out! God truly listened and we are so happy
